ABOUT · SINCE 1999
27 years in the operating theatre, not outside it.
Artcast Medical designs, installs and operates the systems that carry the picture of a surgical procedure to a remote audience. Without getting in the surgeon's way, without a dropout, without excuses.
As much engineering as it is filmmaking.
Broadcasting a procedure live isn't filming. It means integrating mismatched video sources — laparoscopy stack, microscope, da Vinci® system, floor cameras — inside a sterile environment where nobody can afford to wait.
We produce medical audiovisual content: teaching films, 2D and 3D animation, procedure capture. We deliver live broadcasts to congresses and training rooms, and we build the interactive webcasts that let a practitioner put a question to the surgeon from another continent.
Our team is in-house and trained for the operating environment, in line with current European regulations. That isn't administrative detail: it's what allows us to be there while the procedure is happening.

HOW WE WORK
Three principles that don't change.
They explain why the same organisations have been calling us back for twenty years.
1
The theatre comes first
Our setup adapts to the surgical procedure, never the other way round. Advance survey, movement patterns respected, equipment compatible with asepsis requirements.
2
An in-house team
No freelancers discovering a theatre on the morning itself. The same technicians, trained for the operating environment, from one event to the next.
3
One point of contact
From the technical survey through to publishing the replay, the same person handles your project. You never explain anything twice.

Innovation
We did it first.
Artcast Medical delivered the first orthopaedic surgical procedure broadcast live in full HD stereoscopic 3D. At the time, nobody knew whether the picture would hold up for a whole operation.
That search for teaching solutions — making a procedure understandable to someone who isn't seeing it with their own eyes — is still what drives our investment. The company now works across Europe and the United States on new solutions.
